Even though the current recession is affecting the land based casinos it seems that the online poker rooms are not being affected, at least not in a negative way. According to the numbers at PokerScout.com online poker is continuing to grow by about 30% per year. Not all of the poker rooms on the internet are doing great though, there are a couple of big rooms that are starting to see their numbers drop but this is most probably not due to the recession.

The biggest poker room is still PokerStars who recently celebrated getting their 20th Millionth customer and they are growing more and more for each day. They are now also allowed to accept players coming from Italy on their Italian site PokerStars.it.

FullTilt Poker is the second largest poker room and they are also growing on a daily basis just like the Cake Poker Network and the Entraction Network. Entraction has grown a lot lately and this is mainly due to the fact that the poker rooms that were banned from the iPoker Network, NoIQPoker.com and CarlosPoker.com moved over to Entraction. Cake Poker is growing a lot since they have taken over all the poker rooms from the old Gold Chip Network that is no longer around. But it has to be said that Cake Poker are probably also growing due to the fact that they are offering some really innovative promotions with their Gold Card system at Cake Poker and Gold Chip Rewards.

On the losing side of things we find poker rooms like Bodog Poker, Everest Poker and Betfair Poker. Bodog Poker is the biggest loser on the list and this is probably due to the fact that they have been having a lot of problems paying their US customers as they have had their bank accounts in the US confiscated several times. It also didn’t help that they lost a law suit involving their domain name and had to change it from Bodog.com to NewBodog.com and finally to BodogLife.com which is their current name.

If you take a look at the list of winners from the last week FullTilt Poker is the biggest winner when it comes to player traffic. Last Sunday they broke their own record when they hit 18.565 players sitting at the cash game tables at the same time. Even the IPN Network (Boss Media) had a good week and managed to break their old record when they had 4509 players playing at the same time at the cash game tables.

It will be interesting to see if the recession will ever get to online poker or if it will keep on going strong. It has been a couple of years now that people have been saying that the interest for online poker will die out but it has yet to happen.

Since it is a new month there is new money to be collected from the Gold Card Lottery at Cake Poker.

This month you will be able to collect a nice $500 in cash if you have the 5 card hand in the screenshot below.

Days like today just proves that it is always a good thing to hold on to the less valuable gold cards at Cake Poker as they will surely increase in value as time gos by.

Today you will be able to trade 9 relatively crappy Gold Cards for $600.

If you hold these cards i suggest you cash in today as these chances do not come by very often.

I have not really had the time to update with the latest results in the Gold Card Lottery at Cake Poker lately but for the once that wants to keep track of all the Gold Cards i am making this post so that you can see what happened in the draws we did not report on.

As you can see you did not miss out on much if you were not playing poker this weekend as there were some pretty boring cards being drawn in the Cake Poker Lottery.

Today it is time to trade your Gold Cards at Cake Poker for cash again. This chance does not come by very often so if you want to get some extra cash now is the time to cash in.

The winning Gold Cards in todays draw are: 2 of Spades, 7 of Diamonds, 8 of Clubs, Jack of Hearts and Queen of Clubs all of these needs to be from Series 3. If you are holding all of these Gold Cards you will be able to trade them for $125 in cash.

Today all Cake Poker players who have the gold card 8 of Clubs of any Series will be able to play in a $4000 Turbo Tournament. This is not really the highest of price pools but there will probably not be a whole lot of players competing either.

I have this Gold Card in my account but i will not be participating in theis tournament as i feel there is no value sitting in a $4K tournament. But if a $1000 first prize is a lot of money for you and you enjoy playing in turbo Donkaments then i suggest you go ahead and register for this tournament if you have this Gold Card.

If you are one of the lucky players holding a Royal Flush of Diamonds of the Series 3 Gold Cards at Cake Poker you have just won $2000 in cash if you chose to cash in.

Personally i dont think i would be able to refuse cashing in these cards for a nice $2000 payday.

In todays draw of the Cake Poker Gold Card Lottery there will probably be a lot of winners as the winning card was the 7 of Clubs of any Series. All the players at Cake Poker who has this Gold Card will be able to compete in a satellite where the top 20 finishers gets a buy in to the $100 000 Guaranteed tournament.

Personally i would not cash in if i held this card but if you like playing satellites it might be worth a shot.

For the second day in a row you will be able to trade your Gold Cards for cash at Cake Poker. If you are holding the Gold Cards 6 of Clubs (Series 1), 6 of Diamonds (Series 2) and 6 of Hearts (Series 3) you will be able to trade these cards for $200 in cash.

If i was holding these cards i would surely trade them for the $200 as they are not very valuable cards at the moment.

Finally it is time to redeem your Gold Cards for cash. It is not very often that these chances come by at Cake Poker. All players that are holding the follwing five card will be able to exchange them for $125. The cards you will need in order to do this are: 7 of Clubs, 8 of Diamonds, 9 of Hearts, 10 of Spades and the Jack of Spades all of them Series 3.

If you are playing a lot of poker at Cake Poker then these Cards are probably not that hard to come by for you and we would recommend you trading them for the $125.
