Play at the Cake Poker Network using a Mac

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

LockPoker.com that is located at the Cake Poker Network has announced in a press release that they are now offering a Mac friendly version of their poker client. This means that they are joining a growing number of Mac Poker Sites.

The Mac version of Lock Poker has all of the functions that can be found in the regular PC friendly version. You can play with either real money or you will be able to play at the play money tables if you are just interested in testing the new software before making a deposit. You will be able to use the chat features just like in a normal poker room but the best feature is probably that you can adjust the table size which is really great if you are playing more than one table at a time.

According to the poker players that have tried out this new Macintosh friendly software on the Cake Poker Network have reported that they feel it is faster and more stable now that they don’t have to use an emulator from a third party to play poker on their Mac.

In order to be able to play at LockPoker using a Mac you will need an Intel Processor and Mac OS X 10.5 or a later version.

Hopefully it will not be long before other poker rooms on the Cake Poker Network also gets this Mac friendly version of their poker software.

PokerHost Joins the Cake Poker Network

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

The online poker site PokerHost.com announced that they will be leaving the Microgaming Poker Network and instead join the Cake Poker Network. This means that PokerHost are making the exact same move as DoylesRoom did a month ago. This move is due to the fact that the poker rooms located on the Microgaming Network are no longer able to accept US poker players which means they had no choice but to move to a network where US players are allowed.

As from Monday this week PokerHost is officially located on the Cake Poker Network and all players are requested to download the new software when they open the old Microgaming Poker client.

At the Cake Poker Network you can find poker rooms like DoylesRoom.com, Cake Poker, Sportsbook.com, PlayersOnly.com and many other of the major poker rooms on the market.

On a side not we can report that Ladbrokes Poker and Carlos Poker recently made the move over to the Microgaming network, Ladbrokes Poker was using the Microgaming software but was not a part of the network before and Carlos Poker joined the Network after being thrown off the iPoker Network together with NoIQPoker.

DoylesRoom Moves to Cake Poker Network

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

DoylesRoom.com, a branch of the Microgaming Network, has announced the switching of all its players to the Cake Poker Network. This is because of the recent partnership with Cake Poker (a major poker network just after UIGEA). The movement of players to the network of cake exhibits Doyles’ commitment to the cause of serving the American players.

This is what Doyle Brunson, the owner, had to say about the new partnership ‘We wanted to offer our players a rewarding place to play and the liquidity and integrity associated with the Cake Poker Network made this an easy choice for our new partnership”.

The partnership and the movement of players became urgent because Microgaming has clearly stated about its plans to move away from the U.S. market. On the other hand, it is a complete win-win situation for Cake poker to partner with the 10 time winner of the World Series Poker bracelet. Cake Poker network realizes the value of having the godfather of poker Mr. Doyle Brunson aboard.

This is what Cake Poker Network had to say in its official statement regarding the partnership “Having the legend of poker choose our network to call home means a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming all of the DoylesRoom players and are excited to be able to offer all of our network players a chance to rub elbows with Doyle Brunson through some industry exclusive promotions and contests we will be launching in the next few months”.

The switching will foster into a good change for the players of DoylesRoom as they can expect higher network liquidity and thus bigger guaranteed tournaments. The change will also result into a better customer service, security and operations.

DoylesRoom has announced to all its existing and new players to join the $5000 Launch Party Freeroll on this Sunday at 5 pm ET. The players can then take part in the $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament that has a $150 + $12 buy-in. Log on to the DoylesRoom.com to know more.
