The Finnish players are dominating at Full Tilt Poker

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Only two weeks in to 2009 the two Finnish players Patrik Antonius and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies have won over a million dollars. During one single night Antonius managed to win over a million dollars from “durrrr” at the poker tables.

Many thought this was the start of the famous “durrrr” challenge when they started playing but fortunately for durrrr it was not. It has been said that this challenge will not take place until after the Aussie Millions this year.

Another Finnish giant that has been doing well at the poker tables at Full Tilt is “Ziigmund”. After a couple of successful sessions against players like “MR B 2 U SON” he has won over a million dollars this year.

On a side note it is looking to be a really tough year for the “Great Dane” Gus Hansen after losing over a million dollars during 2009. He is now down a total of $3.3 Million over the last 12 months at Full Tilt Poker.

CardSpikes Endorsement Revoked After Payment Issues

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Poker Affiliate Programs website message boards have been buzzing, TwoPlusTwo and many other affiliates about the issues that came to light regarding payments from CardSpike which is part of the Cake Poker Network.

One of the first discussions appeared November 16th quoted as “how hard can it be to pay people?” speaking of the affiliates that were pushing the room, this was posted on the Poker Affiliate Programs message boards by Ridge about the new poker room. In answer to the post on November 19th Greg posted the affiliate payments would be forthcoming that week. Greg had been the main person involved with CardSpike on the forums and is now banned. He was replaced with Peter_CardSpike, who guaranteed affiliates payments would be processed.

Then December 12th Peter_CardSpike stated that the payments would be going out in a few days and all of the affiliates would be paid by the weeks end, December 18th he claimed the payments would be paid that day and the following day. He gave his email address as peter@cardspikeaffiliates.com and his Skype name as PeterCardSpike.

The message by December 31st by Poker Affiliates Program member Warren was that they were working with CardSpike that they were attempting to pay everyone as soon as possible and the holidays could present a problem with how quickly it could be done. He went on to state CardSpike was a client of theirs and had been inadequately run and that was the reason for Peter being put in a place of authority.

Warren advanced Ridge his affiliate payment and later that day there was a post by Professor, an administrator for Poker Affiliates Program stating they would not recommend the site that had been promoted and had revoked its “all in status.”

Since these posts others have alerted their members and the blogger responsible for bringing scandals out in the open about both UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker Nat Arem stated CardSpike as quoted “a rogue skin of Cake Poker Network.”

The website for CardSpike is still active with logos telling visitors to the site they are members of Poker Affiliates Program and Casino Affiliate Programs. The claim that affiliate payments are made on the 15th for the revenue for the month prior is posted on the website and that the poker room and casino were opened in 2008 by online marketers and gaming experts. Explaining these marketers and gaming experts have been involved in iGaming business since 2000.

Poker Affiliates Program and Warren do not believe CardSpike will be able to survive after all of the harmful problems that have presented themselves and they suggest that all links should be removed and promotion of this site should not continue.

Tom Dwan’s Stack Reaches Over $1 million Dollars on Full Tilt Poker

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Poker player Tom “durrrr” Dwan for the third time during his short poker career has stacked up more than $1million dollars at Full Tilt Poker during a game Saturday. The other poker players that had the luck to accumulate a stack of the size Dwan did during the early morning game Saturday were Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond.

These are the only poker players that earned the stacks of this size and this does not include the limit games like poker player TexasLimitKing did several years ago. Dwan was able to do this for the third time at Full Tilt Poker while playing one of the high-stakes games of $500/$1000 No Limit Hold’em while at “RailHeaven”.

Dwan’s hand that raised his stake over the $1million dollar amount occurred while playing against Galfond, before the hand Galfond had a stack of approximately $120 thousand and Dwan’s stack was $924 thousand. Dwan was in the small blind, mastrblastr was in the big blind, when Patrik Antonius raised $3,500 and Galfond called. From the small blind Dwan raised up to $18,200, Antonius called and after summing up the situation Galfond pushed all-in. After Galfond pushed all-in causing Antonius to fold.

The hand Dwan showed was pocket Kings and Galfond was holding Queen-Ace off suit, the flop was 6-3-8 with two diamonds. On the turn the two of diamonds showed giving OMGClayAiken the upper hand since he held he Ace of Diamonds.

Dwan took the pot the for that hand, which had totaled $260 thousand when the river brought a Queen of spades and that put his stack over $1 million dollars.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan’s poker playing gave him the advantage of taking money from poker player Gus Hansen and Dwan has approximately $2 million dollars spread between 4 or 5 tables at Full Tilt Poker.
